Tips on Obtaining Acne Free Skin

Most people who have ever suffered from acne will tell you how much they would have valued being acne free and by following a few simple steps you can at least, for the most part, be acne free.

Acne only forms when the pores become blocked and bacteria starts to form in them, the body will try to effectively get rid of this bacteria as it sees it as foreign to the body. When it tries to eliminate it, the skin reacts by becoming raised and red and that is where the pimples start. The more oil the skin produces the more spots and lesions appear.

The pores become blocked with the over-producing of sebum oil from the glands found in our face, chest, shoulders and back which are normally where the acne attacks.  One of the main reasons for the over producing of this oil is hormones and that is why most adolescents are more prone to acne attacks.

The important issue is really how to stay acne free. If you follow some well known guidelines hopefully you too will enjoy clear healthy looking skin.

If rubbish goes in then rubbish comes back out in the likes of your skin, hair, eyes, nails etc, so make sure that you are feeding your body a good healthy balanced diet. Sleep is also essential because without sleep our bodies cannot function properly. We become run down and our body finds it difficult to fight any foreign elements. Ideally we all need approximately 8 hours sleep but teenagers who are mostly prone to acne may need a lot more because their body is undertaking many changes and also coping with growing. It is also a well known fact that your skin is rejuvenating while you are sleeping which helps when trying to obtain clear healthy looking skin.

Water is one of the most natural and cheapest drink and it is essential for your well being, drinking plenty of water has a huge effect on one’s skin and helps clear the pores in which the bacteria builds up in, so it is essential to maintain a healthy balance of water intake.

Keeping your skin clean and oil free is so important to making sure your skin stays acne free. It is very important to gently cleanse your skin twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening after you have cleansed using a gentle cleanser. After that, you need to tone your skin to make sure all the excess oils are eradicated from your face and then finally, you need to moisturize your skin, bearing in mind the type of skin you have. If you have oily skin you need to use products for oily skin. The same goes for if you have dry skin then you need to use products for dry skin. This will then help even the balance of your skin.

If you feel that you are starting with acne or you have a horrible outbreak of acne then you need to try a product that contains benzoyl peroxide as this will counteract the oils in your skin. You need to use the correct amount as this can also have a very drying effect on your skin and you end up with flaky skin.

When applying the cream always make sure you do not rub it in just gently pat the affected areas.  If you continue this treatment you will notice that your skin will become mostly acne free and if you follow the simple steps we have mentioned then you are well on the way to making sure that your skin remains acne free, something that most teenagers would absolutely love to have.

Many people have become very depressed and let acne ruin their lives when all along if they had followed these steps they too could have become acne free very quickly.

If you do happen to develop a few spots then the most important thing to remember is never ever pick the spots, because where most people think this is a quick and easy solution to getting rid of the spot, they are putting themselves in the situation where they are more likely to end up with scars which can be unsightly than the actual acne itself.

If you happen to use make-up in the form of foundation then you really need to make sure that you use the oil free type of foundation and always remember to remove every trace of make-up before you go to bed.

If you are one of those people that is prone to outbreaks of acne and you really want to be acne free then you may want to seek the help of a dermatologist who can recommend treatments for you. For very bad outbreaks they may even recommend antibiotic cream to help eradicate the problem and prevent it from coming back.

Always remember you are not suffering alone and it is never too late to change your routines to incorporate the simple steps needed to be taken to make sure that you give your skin the best possible chance in fighting off an attack of acne because healthy skin normally means acne free skin which is so important to everyone.
