Body Acne Sucks

Acne is uncomfortable, embarrassing, and often painful. Most people get acne on their faces, especially as adolescents. However, many people also get body acne, which is just as bad, sometimes worse. Body acne is usually less embarrassing (because people don’t see it often), but it can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Body acne is commonly found on the back, the shoulders, the neck, and sometimes on the chest and stomach. You can get body acne anywhere, but those are the common places for it.

Body acne is not a serious medical condition, but most of the time it will not go away on its own. If you have bothersome acne, you should either treat it yourself or see a doctor, depending on the severity of the problem. There are a number of treatments for acne, but there is no “cure”. Most treatments require constant, usually daily applications. Acne systems like Proactive work pretty well, but are expensive and can dry out the skin. If you have sever body acne I recommend seeing a doctor, as they’ll be able to determine the proper treatment for your problem. If you have mild body acne, purchasing a cream or cleanser will probably do the trick.

One of the main problems with body acne is that it’s hard to see, and therefore hard to treat. Especially with pimples on your back and shoulders, it can be nearly impossible to apply creams and other treatments properly. If you have body acne in hard to reach places, find someone who’d be willing to help you out by applying the treatment for you. I know it can be embarrassing, but the acne is not going to go away on its own, and if you’re unable to treat it yourself, you need help.

As with most other health issues, the best way to treat body acne is to prevent it from ever affecting you. Preventing breakouts can be tricky, but there are some easy things you can do to help. The first is to wash everything very regularly. Never wear a shirt more than once without washing it, and wash your sheets weekly (especially if you sleep without a shirt on). You should also wash your pillow cases regularly. The next thing to do is to eat healthy. Junk food leads to acne – especially fried foods. You should try to eat healthy in general, and try to learn your triggers. Sometimes people have outbreaks after eating different things. For me, it’s soda. If I drink too much soda, I’m almost guaranteed to have an outbreak the next day. Learn your triggers, and cut down on sweets and fried foods.

There are a lot of different products you can try to help with body acne. I suggest trying a few, and seeing how they work. Don’t spend a fortune on every acne “cure” out there – most of them aren’t worth your time. If you’ve tried over-the-counter products and follow a good diet and still have an acne problem, it might be time to visit your doctor.
